Technology consulting · IT strategy consultant Adelaide

A technical opinion you can act on.

For founders and small teams without in-house technical staff: one focused session on the decision in front of you. No retainer required, no sales process.

What a session covers

Bring the decision. Leave with a direction.

Cloud migration decisions

Should this move to the cloud, which provider, what it will actually cost, and what to avoid. Grounded in what we run in production — not vendor slides.

"Rebuild or patch" reviews

An honest read on the system that keeps hurting: whether it can be stabilised cheaply or whether patching is throwing money at a sunk cost.

AI workflow triage

You don't need another dashboard. We look at your actual workflow — CRM, email, billing — and identify the one or two automations worth doing.

On-call access, when you need it

Past clients can reach us between sessions for quick calls — a sanity check before you sign a vendor contract, or a second opinion on a quote. Many advisory clients later move to Foundation Monitor once they've seen how we work.

How it runs

One session, one decision, written down.

The point of a session is that you finish it able to act. Not a proposal, not a roadmap deck — a recommendation, the reasoning behind it, and what it would cost.

01

You send the question

A paragraph is enough. If there are quotes, contracts or diagrams involved, send those too so we read them beforehand rather than in the meeting.

02

We do the reading first

We look at what you sent, and at the system in question where we can, so the session starts at the decision instead of at background.

03

The session

Usually 60 to 90 minutes, in person in Adelaide or on a call. We work through the options, the trade-offs, and the things that would change the answer.

04

A written summary

The recommendation, the reasoning and rough costs, in plain English — something you can take to a business partner or a board without translating it.

This is for you if

  • You have a quote in front of you and no way to judge whether it is reasonable
  • Two vendors are telling you opposite things and both sound plausible
  • You are about to commit to a platform you would find expensive to leave
  • Something keeps breaking and you cannot tell whether to fix it or replace it
  • Your business has outgrown the setup that got it here
  • Everyone is telling you to use AI and nobody has said what for

It is probably not for you if

  • Something is broken right now — that is IT support, and you should call
  • You already know exactly what you want built — go straight to a quote
  • You want a document to justify a decision that has already been made
  • The decision needs legal, tax or financial advice rather than technical advice

If a session is not the right fit, we will say so before you book one. Selling you a meeting you do not need is a poor way to start a working relationship.

Questions

Before you book.

What does a session cost?

It depends on how much preparation the question needs — reviewing a vendor contract and an existing environment is more work than a conversation about direction. We confirm the fee by email before booking anything, so you are never surprised.

Are you going to use this to sell me a project?

The session is paid work, which is precisely what lets us give you an answer that is not shaped by what we would like to sell you. Sometimes the recommendation is to do nothing, or to stay with your current vendor. If the answer is work we could do, we will say so, and you are free to take the recommendation elsewhere.

Can you review a quote from another provider?

Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people book. We look at whether the scope matches the problem, whether anything important is missing, and whether the price is in a sensible range. We will also tell you when a quote is good, which happens more often than you might expect.

Do I have to be in Adelaide?

No. Sessions work fine on a call, and we run them for clients elsewhere in Australia. If you are in Adelaide and the question involves physical infrastructure, meeting in person is usually better.

What if we want you to do the work afterwards?

That is common and completely fine. We quote the work separately, on the same fixed-price basis as any other project. There is no obligation either way, and no discount tied to using us.
